Thursday was the 3rd round of the league and at this point I would normally classify everybody into their different groups, but I have decided to hold off for another week to get a better picture on where to create the split in the scores.

Thursday was the second round of our 16 week summer league and with your 12 best scores being used for you final score, people that haven’t participated as of yet are making it harder on themselves to obtain a high score. The course is very well laid out and worthy of any Leinster League course, a good mix of easy and hard.

Here we go again…..the start of the 2014 Summer League! It’s hard to believe, it only seems like yesterday that the Leinster League was starting. The club did very well this year in the Leinster League. We came 5th overall, and a number of club members had wins in their respective classes.

The turnout from all our members was extraordinary & hopefully we will carry that with continued support throughout the rest of the year. But getting back to the Summer League as with last year the League will be held over 16 weeks every Thursday evening starting at 6pm.

While the prize end is only open to Club members, all non-Club members are welcome to participate for birds only.

• Leinster league 23rd of March possibly held over 2 days but has yet to be decided
• Summer league start on the 22nd of May to the 28th of August over 16 weeks and your 12 best scores counting and high gun is on clays broken.
• We have a CSI shoot on the 31st of August it’s a 50 bird
• The team league will start on the 7th of September and run until the 9th of November. Its 10 weeks with your 7 best scores counting
• On the 23rd of November there will be a game shoot format to be decided
• The 7th of December will be the Christmas shoot

On the 24th of November the Club will hold a 70 bird shoot open to all Countryside Alliance members. Entry fee is €25 with €5 going to the prize fund. All welcome.

Today’s shoot brings all the teams that much closer together and it will all come down to the final shoot. Next Sundays shoot is the final round of the League and according to Captain Kirk it promises to be something different.

Ardee Shooting Club would like to congratulate Ross Keegan on winning the Junior section of the 2013 CSI League. Ross is one of the newest members to our Club and despite his young age is an exceptional shot and will be a great asset to the Club.

Ross is part of a large number of former Duleek members that decided to join our Club recently and I and the rest of the Club would like to take this opportunity in welcoming all our new members.

Another brilliant turnout, almost the entire club again. This is great and hopefully we can keep this up for the rest of the competition.

Last Sunday was the start of the Team League. As nearly all the teams had at least one person missing and unfortunately for Maurice in the Battues team he was pretty lonely as he was the only member of his team to turn up. We have decided to use the best three scores out of the each team on the day.

It’s that time of year again, to start the Winter Team League. All those that have agreed to participate have been divided into 5 teams by Gerry. The first shoot is this Sunday (15th) starting at 10.30am and everybody should have received a text message from Dennis informing you of your team mates.
